Free Training for Parents on Improving Communication Skills
The Coach to Communicate program at Texas A&M University continues to offer training at no cost to Texas parents and caregivers of children up to age 22 with core features of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Parents and caregivers will learn how to improve their child’s communication skills.
The Coach to Communicate (C2C) program is provided by a research grant sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Enrollment is open year-round, so parents are welcome to register and begin at any time that is convenient for them.
The training includes a 1-hour self-paced webinar that teaches behavioral strategies to increase communication use in children with ASD. Once complete, parents can choose to be paired with a coach for a more intensive 12-week training specific to their child’s communication needs (again, at no cost to parents). Shorter options of 2-5 coaching sessions are also available for parents, if better suited to their needs. Coaching is offered in English, Spanish and Thai.

As we develop the Behavior Buddy application, we want to hear from families with kids with autism to ensure it is designed to your needs. We are offering FREE one-on-one telehealth services with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Sessions will be 1-2 hours long for up to 10 hours total. Register today!

Building Skills Together
Building Skills Together is a free, parent-focused Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training program for families of young Autistic children who are currently on a Medicaid waiting list for ABA services.

The Lurie Center for Autism
The Lurie Center for Autism offers virtual workshops for parents and caregivers on a wide range of relevant topics. Some of these are free, some are billable to insurance, and some have a cost.

Project TAPP Offering Professional Development for Teaching Teams at No Cost
ProjectTAPP (Teaching, Autism, and Practitioner Preparation) is a FREE training that is tailored for the unique needs of educators who work with students diagnosed with ASD (including: general education teachers, special education teachers, paraprofessionals, specials teachers, administrators, and support staff).
